The aspiring legislator made these remarks while joining a sea of thousands of jubilant NRM supporters at Kololo Independence Grounds to celebrate the historic nomination of the NRM Party presidential candidate, Gen. Yoweri Museveni.

The event at Kololo Independence Grounds on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, was met with massive celebration by party faithful, who gathered in an electric atmosphere charged with a palpable sense of anticipation.

A vibrant crowd, predominantly clad in the NRM’s signature yellow, waved flags and sang celebratory songs, underscoring both the party’s enduring legacy and its forward-looking vision for Uganda.

Speaking to this reporter at the event, the Kabale District woman hopeful legislator, Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, praised President Museveni’s commitment to inclusive growth, stating that the nomination reaffirms collective progress.

She affirmed that President Museveni’s unifying vision resonates deeply with the hopes of all Ugandans, creating the essential political stability that paves the way for sustainable economic growth and national prosperity.

“Today is not just a nomination; it is a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to progress. The President’s vision aligns with the aspirations of every Ugandan, and his leadership provides the stability needed to achieve lasting prosperity,” Enid Origumisiriza stated.

Following a grand, signature entrance, the nominated President Museveni addressed the enthusiastic crowd, expressing profound gratitude for the unwavering support from Ugandans across the nation.

He emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding the nation’s achievements over the past decades, particularly in establishing peace, stability, and fostering socio-economic development.

“We must protect the gains we have made together. Our focus remains on transforming Uganda through industrialization, job creation, and ensuring prosperity for all citizens. The journey continues, and together, we shall build a stronger, more resilient nation,” President Museveni declared.

The event at Kololo Independence Grounds, which formally endorsed President Museveni to seek another term after leading since 1986, has decisively set the tone for the 2026 electoral season.
