Gogo died on the night of Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Her death was confirmed by a medical report from the Kyegera Doctors Center in Kampala, where the artist was pronounced dead on arrival after her condition deteriorated rapidly.

According to close associate Bikem Uwayesu, who was traveling with the singer, Gogo’s final days were spent doing what she loved most: ministering through music.

Uwayesu stated that Gogo had left her native Rwanda on August 28th to attend a crusade in Mbarara, Uganda, which ran from August 29th to 31st.

Following the successful religious event, Gogo and her team proceeded to the Ugandan capital, Kampala, for a promotional engagement. It was shortly after their arrival in the city that the beloved singer first fell ill.

“Her condition worsened very quickly. We acted immediately and rushed her to the hospital for emergency care. Despite all efforts, she was declared dead on arrival,” Uwayesu stated.

The news of her untimely and tragic death has sent profound shockwaves through Rwanda and reverberated across the entire international gospel community, where she was revered as a vocal powerhouse and a beacon of faith.

Fans, fellow artists, and faith leaders have taken to social media to express their grief and share tributes, remembering her not only for her powerful, soul-stirring voice but also for her deep devotion and positive spirit.

Gogo was a luminary in the Rwandan gospel scene, known for her hit songs that blended traditional rhythms with contemporary praise music.

Her powerful singing style, which was consistently anchored in themes of hope, redemption, and faith, provided immense comfort and profound joy to countless listeners.

As the community grapples with this immense loss, details regarding funeral arrangements and memorial services are expected to be communicated by her family and management in the coming days.

Rest in Peace, Gloriose “Gogo” Musabyimana (1989 – 2025).
