Kisoro, Uganda – The Bufumbira North Member of Parliament, Hon. Kamara John Nizeyimana, has declared his intentions to contest for the Kisoro district NRM Party chairperson in the upcoming elections.
Nizeyimana made the remarks on Friday, May 10, 2026, while addressing journalists from the Kisoro United Journalists Association (KUJA) at his business center in Nyakinama sub-county, Kisoro district.
During the address, Nizeyimana emphasized that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) was founded by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to provide peace, stability, unity, and development in the country.
He expressed his determination to lead the party in the district, stating that he will serve as both a legislator for Bufumbira North and potentially the NRM chairman for Kisoro district.

In addition to discussing his political aspirations, Nizeyimana encouraged Kisoro-based journalists to engage in income-generating activities to enhance their financial stability and independence.
He advised them to invest part of their monthly salaries into small businesses and suggested that they consider growing their own food, such as vegetables and bananas, to reduce their reliance on market purchases.

Speaking on behalf of the Kisoro United Journalists Association (KUJA), Simon Mugumya, the association’s vice chairperson, applauded Nizeyimana for his efforts to recognize the work done by journalists and his support for the association.
Mugumya emphasized the importance of cooperation among journalists in reporting accurate news that brings a positive impact to society.
