Kabale, Uganda – Kabale, the host team for the 2nd round of the IGP’s tournament in the Kigezi region, suffered a tough 0-1 loss to visiting team Kisoro at the Kabale main stadium.

The sole goal was scored by Kisoro Police’s PC Opon Ramadan in the 23rd minute of the first half.Despite the challenging weather conditions, the competition is progressing as planned, according to ASP Elly Maate, Kigezi police spokesperson and tournament publicist.

“The tournament is progressing as planned, despite the challenges posed by continuous heavy rains. Nonetheless, all participating teams are well-prepared and ready to compete,” Maate said.

Maate added that the match was entertaining, but spectator turnout was low, likely due to a concurrent Fufa Big League fixture between Kabale Home Boys and Blacks Power FC at Al Madina Muslim ground.

The tournament is ongoing, with the best-performing district set to represent the region at the next level.

The outcome of the tournament will determine which district advances to the next stage, making each match crucial for participating teams.
