The Legislator made this call while donating 132 mattresses to students of Rubare Secondary School, who lost their properties in a dormitory fire on November 15, 2024.

She emphasized the need for improvement, noting that rich people prefer private schools due to their better performance.

Kabasharira encouraged parents to collaborate with PTA committees and school staff to identify areas for improvement during PTA meetings.

The legislator stressed that improving and standardizing government schools would not only enhance student performance but also increase enrollment.

She further acknowledged that the government is willing to have all teachers on its payroll but lacks the capacity to do so thus appealing to parents to support the government in improving the standards of government schools.

Meanwhile, the headteacher of Rubare Secondary School, Ms. Mpeirwe Monic Atukunda, expressed gratitude to the legislator, well-wishers, and the Red Cross Society for their unwavering support following the disaster stressing that the school is still in need of support.

Rubare Secondary School, a government-aided school in Ntungamo District, has a student enrollment of over 1100 students.

The school has been working to recover from the November 2024 fire, which destroyed properties worth millions.
