District recruitment quotas for the 2026 UPDF exercise will be determined based on the Uganda National Population and Housing Census 2024.
In a significant expansion of recruitment categories, the UPDF is seeking talent across ten specialized fields, including general recruits, ICT specialists, engineers, logistics experts, and aviation professionals.
Additional opportunities are open for health workers, legal practitioners, graduate teachers, sports personnel, social scientists, and musicians specializing in band and live performance.
The UPDF issued a strong warning that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge, with no agents or intermediaries involved, thus urging the public to report any attempt to solicit money in exchange for opportunities.
The military further encouraged females with professional qualifications to apply and warned that any forged or falsified documents would lead to immediate arrest and prosecution.
