The public urged to be vigilant and mindful of their surroundings

KAMPALA-UGANDA: The law enforcer’s police have encouraged the members of the public to be vigilant, mindful of their surroundings and report any suspicious activities around them.

The call was made by the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire while giving updates on the recent circulating Video a disturbing incident captured on CCTV in Kampala.

The footage, which has been circulating on social media, shows a man identified as Mugisha Tomson, 40 a resident of Kyebando, being assaulted by unidentified assailants.

The attack occurred at approximately about 8 PM on Ben Kiwanuka Street Wednesday, 22nd May 2024 and it has been established that during the incident, the victim was robbed of 450,000 UGX, a bag containing important documents, keys, and a container.

Owoyesigyire said that the Central Police Station in Kampala has promptly opened inquiries into this attack ad So far, two suspects have yet been identified who are currently assisting with the ongoing investigations.

He added that the Police is actively working to trace and apprehend all individuals involved in the incident and ensure they are brought to justice.

If you witness any suspicious activities, please do not hesitate to make an alarm or notify the police immediately” said Luke Owoyesigyire.

Luke Owoyesigyire further charged the Public to cooperate essential in preventing such incidents and ensuring community safety.
